Storyline:

The show is set more than 100 years after the events of “Vikings.” In England, tensions between the descendants of the Vikings (known as Norse or “Danes”) and the native English are reaching a bloody climax. The Norse also have internal conflicts over their differing Christian and pagan beliefs.

Leif, one of the main characters, is slowly embracing Christianity and eager to learn more about the world. He plans to head to Mariam’s house in Constantinople to further his knowledge. The trailer for Season 3 suggests that Leif is about to set sail and discover more uncharted territories in the West.

Harald, on the other hand, is captivated by Elena, a mysterious woman accompanying him to Constantinople. Elena is set to marry the Emperor, which means any relationship between her and Harald must remain secret if Harald wants to stay safe.

Freydis has a more open-ended journey. She has brokered peace with Kattegat, Canute, and Forkbeard, allowing her to focus on raising her young son. However, new threats could emerge at any moment, and as a defender of pagan ways, Freydis might have to lead a fight against new enemies.

In London, Queen Emma has discovered secrets about Godwin’s past, giving her leverage over him. Godwin, who has married Canute’s niece Gytha, might have to become Emma’s enforcer if the political situation in England shifts.
